Obamacare income limits in Florida for 2027

For 2027 coverage in Florida, you can get a federal tax credit if your household income is between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level. That is about $15,960 to $63,840 for one person, $21,640 to $86,560 for two and $33,000 to $132,000 for four. Above 400% there is no help.

Which numbers are used

2027 coverage uses the 2026 HHS poverty guidelines (Federal Register): $15,960 for one person, plus $5,680 for each extra person. Multiply by 4 for the upper limit. Income means your expected 2027 modified adjusted gross income for everyone in your tax household, not last year's pay stub.

The 400% cliff is back

From 2021 to 2025 people above 400% could still get help. That ended with 2025, so in 2027 earning one dollar over the limit can mean losing the whole credit (KFF). If you are close to it, contributions to a traditional IRA or an HSA can lower the income that counts.

Below 100% in Florida

Florida has not expanded Medicaid, so most adults under 100% of the poverty level without children or a disability do not qualify for Medicaid and do not get Marketplace tax credits either. Children, pregnant women and some parents may qualify for Medicaid or Florida KidCare. If your income is near the line, count every source carefully; Charlyne helps you do that.

Pay back rules

There is no longer a cap on how much extra tax credit you must repay if your income ends up higher than you estimated (KFF). Update your application during the year if your income changes.
