Which insurers sell 2027 Obamacare plans in Miramar?

Miramar is in Broward County, where nine companies sell Marketplace (Obamacare) plans for 2027, according to the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation's county table. On HealthCare.gov they appear as Florida Blue, Florida Blue HMO, Oscar, UnitedHealthcare, Ambetter Health, Wellpoint, AvMed, AmeriHealth Caritas Next and 22 Health. 22 Health is new to many people: it sells plans only in Broward and is a division of Community Care Plan, which is owned by Broward Health and Memorial Healthcare System (22 Health). Most Broward plans are HMOs, so the network is the first thing to check.

Florida's own 2027 example is a single 28-year-old earning $36,000: the average silver plan in Broward is about $723 a month before help, and about $312 after the average tax credit (state example). Your own price depends on age, ZIP code, income and plan level. More detail: which insurers sell Marketplace plans in Broward for 2027.

Memorial is your hospital? Check the network first

Florida Blue and Broward's two public hospital systems still have no contract. Memorial Healthcare System, which runs Memorial Regional, Joe DiMaggio Children's, Memorial West, Memorial Pembroke and Memorial Miramar, has been out of Florida Blue's network since September 1, 2025 (Memorial). Broward Health, which runs Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, has been out since July 1, 2025 (Broward Health). Both sides say talks continue, but nothing has been signed.

What to do if these hospitals matter to you:

  • Pick the network, not just the price. If your doctors, your children's pediatrician or a planned surgery are at Memorial or Broward Health, look at plans from insurers that include them, such as 22 Health, which is owned by both systems. Check the provider directory for your exact doctor before you enroll.
  • Already on Florida Blue and in treatment? If you are pregnant, recovering from surgery or treating a serious condition, ask Florida Blue about continuity of care, which can keep in-network rates for a limited time (Florida Blue's page).
  • Emergencies are protected. In a real emergency go to the closest ER. Emergency care is covered at in-network cost sharing even at an out-of-network hospital, under the federal No Surprises Act.
  • Children on Florida Blue can get in-network hospital care from Nicklaus Children's inside Broward Health Medical Center and Broward Health Coral Springs since March 2026.
  • Mark the dates. Choose by December 15 for a January 1 start, or by January 15, 2027 for February 1. After that you usually wait a year unless you have a life event.

Live in Broward, work in Miami-Dade

Miramar sits right on the Miami-Dade line, and a large share of residents drive south every day to jobs at the airport, in Doral, in Miami Gardens or downtown. That creates a common trap. Your plan is chosen by where you live, so you buy a Broward plan, but your doctors, your urgent care and the hospital you would reach in an emergency during the workday may be in Miami-Dade. Some HMO plans have narrow networks that stop at the county line.

Charlyne starts from both maps: the doctors and hospital near home (Memorial Miramar, Memorial Pembroke) and the ones near work (often Jackson North, Jackson Memorial or a Baptist Health center). She then shows the plans whose network covers both. Emergencies are covered at in-network cost sharing anywhere, but follow-up visits are not, so this matters for anyone with a chronic condition or children in care.

Miramar is also home to many Caribbean families, including Jamaican and Haitian households, where status can differ inside one family. From 2027, green card holders and Cuban and Haitian entrants keep federal tax credits, while other lawful statuses do not.
