Which insurers sell 2027 Obamacare plans in Hallandale Beach?
Hallandale Beach is in Broward County, where nine companies sell Marketplace (Obamacare) plans for 2027, according to the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation's county table. On HealthCare.gov they appear as Florida Blue, Florida Blue HMO, Oscar, UnitedHealthcare, Ambetter Health, Wellpoint, AvMed, AmeriHealth Caritas Next and 22 Health. 22 Health is new to many people: it sells plans only in Broward and is a division of Community Care Plan, which is owned by Broward Health and Memorial Healthcare System (22 Health). Most Broward plans are HMOs, so the network is the first thing to check.
Florida's own 2027 example is a single 28-year-old earning $36,000: the average silver plan in Broward is about $723 a month before help, and about $312 after the average tax credit (state example). Your own price depends on age, ZIP code, income and plan level. More detail: which insurers sell Marketplace plans in Broward for 2027.
Because HCA Florida Aventura is across the county line, check that your Broward plan includes it if that is the hospital you would use. Many Broward HMOs focus on Broward hospitals.
Memorial is your hospital? Check the network first
Florida Blue and Broward's two public hospital systems still have no contract. Memorial Healthcare System, which runs Memorial Regional, Joe DiMaggio Children's, Memorial West, Memorial Pembroke and Memorial Miramar, has been out of Florida Blue's network since September 1, 2025 (Memorial). Broward Health, which runs Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, has been out since July 1, 2025 (Broward Health). Both sides say talks continue, but nothing has been signed.
What to do if these hospitals matter to you:
- Pick the network, not just the price. If your doctors, your children's pediatrician or a planned surgery are at Memorial or Broward Health, look at plans from insurers that include them, such as 22 Health, which is owned by both systems. Check the provider directory for your exact doctor before you enroll.
- Already on Florida Blue and in treatment? If you are pregnant, recovering from surgery or treating a serious condition, ask Florida Blue about continuity of care, which can keep in-network rates for a limited time (Florida Blue's page).
- Emergencies are protected. In a real emergency go to the closest ER. Emergency care is covered at in-network cost sharing even at an out-of-network hospital, under the federal No Surprises Act.
- Children on Florida Blue can get in-network hospital care from Nicklaus Children's inside Broward Health Medical Center and Broward Health Coral Springs since March 2026.
- Mark the dates. Choose by December 15 for a January 1 start, or by January 15, 2027 for February 1. After that you usually wait a year unless you have a life event.

Early retirees and part-year residents
Hallandale Beach has many condo residents in their late 50s and early 60s: people who retired early from New York, Quebec or Europe, and couples where one spouse has reached Medicare and the other has not. If you live here full time and are not yet 65, an Obamacare (ACA) plan is usually the bridge to Medicare. Your price depends heavily on the income you report for the year. Pension, IRA withdrawals and investment income count, so the timing of a withdrawal can change your tax credit. Above 400% of the federal poverty level, about $86,560 for a couple in 2027 coverage, there is no tax credit at all, so a planned large withdrawal can cost you the whole credit.
If your permanent home is still abroad or in another state and you spend the winter here, a Florida Marketplace plan is usually not the right tool; home coverage plus travel medical insurance often is. Charlyne asks where you live, how long you stay and which hospital you would use, and only then suggests a plan. When you turn 65 she can help with Medicare too.
