Which insurers sell 2027 Obamacare plans in Pembroke Pines?

Pembroke Pines is in Broward County, where nine companies sell Marketplace (Obamacare) plans for 2027, according to the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation's county table. On HealthCare.gov they appear as Florida Blue, Florida Blue HMO, Oscar, UnitedHealthcare, Ambetter Health, Wellpoint, AvMed, AmeriHealth Caritas Next and 22 Health. 22 Health is new to many people: it sells plans only in Broward and is a division of Community Care Plan, which is owned by Broward Health and Memorial Healthcare System (22 Health). Most Broward plans are HMOs, so the network is the first thing to check.

Florida's own 2027 example is a single 28-year-old earning $36,000: the average silver plan in Broward is about $723 a month before help, and about $312 after the average tax credit (state example). Your own price depends on age, ZIP code, income and plan level. More detail: which insurers sell Marketplace plans in Broward for 2027.

Memorial is your hospital? Check the network first

Florida Blue and Broward's two public hospital systems still have no contract. Memorial Healthcare System, which runs Memorial Regional, Joe DiMaggio Children's, Memorial West, Memorial Pembroke and Memorial Miramar, has been out of Florida Blue's network since September 1, 2025 (Memorial). Broward Health, which runs Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, has been out since July 1, 2025 (Broward Health). Both sides say talks continue, but nothing has been signed.

What to do if these hospitals matter to you:

  • Pick the network, not just the price. If your doctors, your children's pediatrician or a planned surgery are at Memorial or Broward Health, look at plans from insurers that include them, such as 22 Health, which is owned by both systems. Check the provider directory for your exact doctor before you enroll.
  • Already on Florida Blue and in treatment? If you are pregnant, recovering from surgery or treating a serious condition, ask Florida Blue about continuity of care, which can keep in-network rates for a limited time (Florida Blue's page).
  • Emergencies are protected. In a real emergency go to the closest ER. Emergency care is covered at in-network cost sharing even at an out-of-network hospital, under the federal No Surprises Act.
  • Children on Florida Blue can get in-network hospital care from Nicklaus Children's inside Broward Health Medical Center and Broward Health Coral Springs since March 2026.
  • Mark the dates. Choose by December 15 for a January 1 start, or by January 15, 2027 for February 1. After that you usually wait a year unless you have a life event.

Families in the western suburbs

Pembroke Pines is a family city: big school-age households, two working parents, often one of them self-employed or between jobs. The usual question is whether to put everyone on one Marketplace plan or split the family. Children in families with modest incomes can often get Florida KidCare even when the parents buy a Marketplace plan, and that can lower the family's total cost. If one parent has an employer plan, the rest of the family can only get tax credits when the family coverage offered by that job is considered unaffordable, a test that now looks at the cost of covering the whole family, not just the worker.

Pediatric care is the other big point. Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood is part of Memorial, so it is out of Florida Blue's network for now, while Nicklaus Children's runs in-network services for Florida Blue members at Broward Health Medical Center. If your children see a specific pediatrician, start from that name. Charlyne checks the pediatrician, the hospital and the pharmacy before you choose.

Pembroke Pines FAQ

Is Memorial Hospital West in network for 2027 Obamacare (ACA) plans?

It depends on the insurer. Memorial is out of Florida Blue's network since September 1, 2025, while other Broward insurers, including 22 Health, include Memorial. We check the exact plan before you enroll.

When is the deadline to have coverage on January 1, 2027?

Enroll by December 15, 2026. You can still enroll until January 15, 2027, with coverage starting February 1.

Can my children get Florida KidCare while I buy a Marketplace plan?

Often yes. KidCare eligibility depends on family income and the child's status. We help you check both at the same time.

I work in Miami-Dade but live in Pembroke Pines. Which plans can I buy?

You buy Broward plans because plans follow your home address. Check that doctors near your work are in network too.
